I finally got around to taking some decent pictures of my new toy, a 1999 Emerald Mica Mazda Miata.  I picked her up after having the opportunity to drive a 1967 MGB.  That clinched it for me, I knew I had to have a two seat, rear drive, manual gearbox, convertible.  I also knew I wanted it to be as similar to the classic British sports cars as possible, but without the headaches associated with owning an old MG, Triumph or Lotus.  My pockets just aren't deep enough!

There's a pretty short list of cars that fit the bill, but to me only the Miata had the same charm and pure sports car feel of the older great British marques.  So I set out on my quest, and after having a few sold out from under me I stumbled upon this one while browsing AutoTrader.com on a Friday night.  I called the dealer and asked if it was still available and it was.  So.....next morning I go check it out and whadda ya know?  It's near perfect!  Or at least as near perfect as a regularly driven 5 year old car can be.  I made the deal that morning and drove her home.  It has the full leather package and the 200 watt Bose AM/FM/CD/Cassette stereo with, of course, the 5 speed manual gearbox.  Pure joy I tell ya, pure joy!

All I've done to her is a good detailing job and then the addition of the chrome style bars and the chromed fuel filler door.  I don't know if I'll do much more, but if you've seen my PT Cruiser you know I can't seem to leave well enough alone!
